Colombo c'ship profits to help development

TENNIS: The 94th Colombo Championships tennis tournament, organised by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) Playing Section, is set to be worked off from July 18 to August 9, at the SLTA Playing Section Courts, Greenpath.

"The Colombo Championships is the largest and the most important tennis tournament, conducted by affiliated clubs of SLTA", said Pawan Nadarajah, President of the SLTA Playing Section and Tournament Director, at a press briefing held at the SLTA last Thursday (July 9).

"This is an 'A' grade tournament, and it is likely that most of the national players including some who are studying abroad.

Juniors: Boys under 10 singles, girls under 10 singles, boys under 12 singles, girls under 12 singles, boys under 14 singles, boys under 14 doubles, girls under 14 singles, girls under 14 doubles, boys under 16 singles, girls under 16 singles, boys under 18 singles, boys under 18 doubles, girls under 18 singles and girls under 18 doubles.

Open Events: Men's single's, Men's Doubles, Women's Singles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

Senior Events: Seniors over 35 singles, seniors over 35 doubles, seniors over 45 singles, senior over 45 doubles, seniors over 55 singles, seniors over 55 doubles, seniors over 65 singles and seniors over 65 doubles.
