Bathiya ’N Santhush in concert The students of Methodist College, Colombo especially the Class of ‘90 are going all out to make this fund raiser a great success. The concert by Bathiya N Santhush will go on boards on September 5 at 7.00 p.m. at St.Joseph’s College, Auditorium. The concert will also feature Ashanthi, Randhir and Umara. Bathiya and Santhush who were out of the island for sometime are now back to entertain their fans who no doubt will he present in droves to groove their cares away. All the hits of Bathiya N Santhush we understand will be performed including the new catchy songs which they released recently. News from the grapevine, reveals that the group is working on newer material for release for the forthcoming season. In the meantime join the fun and excitement that Bathiya N Santhush always generate when they are on stage. Musicians soiree Once again leading musicians will gather to rapport with one another on September 6 from 1.30 p.m. onwards at CR&FC. The opening set at 1.30 p.m. will be led by vocalist Antoinette de Alwis supported by Surekha Amerasinghe piano, Basil Paiva - bass and Royle de Andrews - drums. The trio set will feature Kumar de Silva on piano with Nilantha Ariyaratne - bass and Diren Sabaratnam - drums. The featured set will be led by Primal Liyanage - guitar, Eshantha Pieris - piano, Alston Joachim - bass, Lelun Ratnayake - congas and Aruna Siriwardhana - drums. A night of fun and laughter Like the blurbs predicted it was a night with inhibitions thrown to the winds and ladies enjoying themselves with no cares at all. It all happened at the Pink Party held recently by the Galadari Hotel at Margarita Blue. The Blue capacity packed was all dressed up in pink hues complete with many pink balloons strung to the ceiling of the nite club, to welcome the ladies, who after a spell of no such exciting entertainment were happy to meet up with friends or make new friends. The music kept the girls on the or floor singing along and dancing to the well selected songs spun by the DJs of Efx Entertainment. Of course Benjy and Aquarius started off proceedings with their special brand of music before handing over to the DJs. The competitions worked out by the organisers of the Hotel saw the ladies join in on the first call itself. The many competitions innocent in intentions demanded skill and endurance and this was no difficult task for the ladies who carried home valuable prizes. Kudos to the Galadari for giving the ladies a night to remember and the thought that was voiced by them was “hope ther’es going to be such nights in the future” cos in the words of the song “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.” .................................... << Magazine Main Page
