ANCL launches luxury bus service to Jaffna



The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (Lake House) launched the “Thinakaran” Super Luxury Bus Service between Jaffna and Colombo, in a bid to connect the North and the South after a lapse of a few decades. Travel to Jaffna in utmost comfort and luxury and enjoy the special discounts on the Lake House Colombo-Jaffna bus.

The service which was launched on the Thai Pongal festival day costs Rs. 1,600.There are two super luxury 49 seat buses including special discounts for senior citizens (above 60 years) and for children under 12. Special discounted packages are available for schools, higher education institutes and recognised welfare societies.

The Jaffna bound bus leaves Colombo at 11 p.m. daily and the Colombo bound bus leaves Jaffna at 7 a.m.

The super luxury bus starts from Wijeya Enterprises in front of St. Lawrence's Church, Wellawatte and reaches Jaffna at 10 a.m. the next day stopping at Puttalam, Rambewa in Medawachchiya and Mankulam for refreshments. The Colombo bound bus starts in Jaffna from the Lake House branch office at Stanley Road, Jaffna.
