Franky

I was on another usual trip to Kandy when I first laid my eyes on Franky. He was like none other I had seen before, simply because I personally had not seen anyone as cute and adorable as Franky back at home.

It was a cold indolent day, one of those days that I’d do anything to be in bed all day hugging my pillow and snoring away. Unfortunately I wasn’t so lucky. My dad’s hometown had a lot in store for me, from 7 in the morning till the following day. However, it would be wrong to say that I did not anticipate any of this. But, what I did not expect was to meet Franky.

That morning he trotted into my dad’s house so elegantly and proudly that I instantly fell in love with him. His brown ears, white skin and ever so cheerfully wagging tail vanquished the indolence that had, for so long been roaming in the air.

This four legged creature happens to be a lovely Dalmation puppy that hushed my heart with cheer and warmth that morning. As old and big as I was, my instinct was to play with the little one. Nevertheless, call it fear, caution or maybe ever hygiene that kept me from approaching little Franky. It was a pity that I wasn’t able to fulfil my wishes and satisfy my desire to “engage” with the elegant puppy that made its way into my life for that one day yet, one thing is for sure, his brown spotted image or rhythmically wagging tail shall never leave my memory.
