CHESS: Sri Lanka's chess seems to have progressed somewhat as the President of the Anately Karpov Chess Club of the Russian Centre - Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya did well to win 14 games and drew one when she played against 15 Indian Chess Players in a simultaneous chess display on her recent visit to India.

On an invitation extended by India's First International Master Manuel Aaron Suneetha Wijesuriya was in India and she gave a pleasing display at the exhibition display. India will continue to help the Sri Lankan chess players in their forward march.

Suneetha Wijesuriya was a guest at the Russian Centre in India and had discussions with the Director and other officials as to how the game can be improved here in Sri Lanka.
