Kyiv-Colombo flights from October

Ukraine-based AeroSvit is planning to launch Kyiv-Colombo regular flights from October 22.

Acting Director General of AeroSvit, Oleksandr Avdeyev, told the media that the flights will operate three times a week. CJSC AeroSvit was established in 1994.

Its fleet consists of 16 medium-range Boeing 737s and seven long-haul Boeing 767s.

It also operates Airbus 320, Airbus 321, Embraer 145, Embraer 195 and An-148 aircraft jointly with partner airlines.

According to AeroSvit, Dutch-based Gilward Investments BV owns about 38 percent of the stocks in the company. The State Property Fund has a 22.4 percent stake and the Ukrainian companies GenAviaInvest, Investment Advisors Group and Bureau hold 24.99 percent, 9.8 pecent and 4.8 percent of the airline's shares.

SriLankan Airlines will fly to Moscow from September.
