Industrial Gases now goes for dry ice production
Industrial Gases (Pvt.) Ltd. have commenced dry ice production, with
an investment of over Rs.400 m. The company’s new plant and machinery is
capable of producing dry ice slabs, pellets and chips which serves the
fishing, food and entertainment industries.
It can also clean and service machinery and equipment with its dry
ice blasting system, which avoids dismantling of the machinery.
Since its formation in 1992, Industrial Gases (Pvt.) Ltd. in
Sapugaskanda, offers quality industrial, medical and speciality gases,
welding consumables and accessories ranging from high pressure gas
regulators, to industrial welding equipment and accessories.
From 1997 to 2007, Messer Griesheim GmbH, of Frankfurt-Germany,
established high safety standards which is strictly adhered to under a
technological collaboration agreement with Sumith Guruge, the local
partner who is the controlling shareholder of the company.
It was after this acquisition that the company began its production
of liquid CO2 and dry ice and dry ice blast cleaning which was started
for the first time in Sri Lanka. In addition, Installation of a new
larger Air Separation Plant to produce high purity Oxygen and Nitrogen
in liquid form was installed becoming a total solution provider to the
industry.
“To satisfy the growing demand for industrial gases and allied
products in Sri Lanka, IGPL has capacitated its dry ice, liquid oxygen
and liquid nitrogen plant to increase its back-up stocks at all times
with its new plant capable of manufacturing, filling and supplying these
high demand products.
IGPL’s wide range of industrial, medical and specialty gases,
equipment and welding equipment are also exported to the Maldives, said
Chairman IGPL Sumith Guruge.
