Employment racket busted

Colombo Division Crime Bureau with Panadura Police Special Crime and Fraud Bureau officials busted a massive employment racket in arresting the master mind Senadirage, ex-coordinating secretary of a Kalutara District UNP Parliamentarian.

He was remanded by the Panadura Additional District Judge and Magistrate R.S.A. Dissanayaka till October 13 pending a comprehensive investigation into the job racket where he had collected Rs. 3.8 million from the parents of the youth promising employment at the Ministry of Finance and the Sri Lanka Customs.

Police informed court on 29.09.11 that a CD which consist the discussion between the parents and the suspect had been traced by the Police. It had been forwarded to the Moratuwa University to conduct investigations and get a report.

13 parents of youth expected employments were present before court on 29-09-11 on receipt of summons told court that they had given money to another person to be handed over to the suspect.

Forged appointment letters were traced by the police.

In addition the suspect had collected Rs. 1.3 million from the parents of youths in Kalutara District promising employment at the Sri Lanka Customs and the Ministry of Finance.

On receipt of complaints a police party led by Inspector I. Geekiyanage, OIC of the Panadura Police Special Crime Bureau arrested the suspect Senadirage Dayananda and produced before court.
