Richmond beat Cambrians by 84 runs

A solid knock of 68 runs which included eight fours and two sixes by Suchira Fernando and a match bag of 9 for 64 by Jayanga Peiris could not prevent Richmond College, Galle from defeating formidable Prince of Wales' College by 84 runs and carry away the Major A.P.M. Peiris Trophy in their inter-school under-19 cricket match worked off at Moratuwa.

Resuming at 47 for 1 Richmondites were all out for 185 runs with Skipper Pabasara Waduge and Savin Nanayakkara scoring 48 and 46 runs respectively.

Set to make 215 runs for an outright victory Cambrians collapsed for 130 runs with Banuka Madupriya claiming 5 for 38 and Richmondites registered their third win for the season.

Richmond: 159 and 185 (Pabasara Waduge 48, Savin Nanayakkara 46, Sahan Ramesh 20, Jayanga Peiris 6/38, Thilan Nimesh 3/31.

Prince of Wales: 130 and 130 (Suchira Fernando 68, Banuka Madurapriya 5/38, A.K. Tyronne 3/40, Charith Asalanka 2/13).
