Six Tamils convicted in Paris
The Court of Appeal of France has convicted six Tamils belong to an
LTTE shadow organisation, the Tamil Co-ordinating Council last
Wednesday, informed sources said.
This is the first time a court in Paris had convicted Tamils for
extorting money from people resident in Paris.
The leader of the organisation Parithy and five others have been
sentenced to a five-year imprisonment and the sentence suspended.
Meanwhile, according to sources, in an operation called 'Neck pain,'
37 Tamils have been arrested in Canada for insurance defaults, which
totalled to millions of Canadian dollars.
