Royal Class of '80 fetes past teachers



Chairman, Royal College Group ’80, Shalitha Wijesundera presents the public address unit to Principal, Royal College Upali Gunas-ekara.

The students of Colombo, Royal College Class of '80 (RCC - 80) felicitated a group of Royal College teachers of their time from 1968 to 1980, at a special ceremony held at the College Hall recently.

Around 100 students who were at Royal during the period, will also celebrate their 50th birthdays.

Speaking at the ceremony President, RCC-80, Shalitha Wijesundera said the objective of organising such an event was to refresh the Student-Teachers' Association and also to look into the needs of teachers spending their retirement.

RCC-80, Organising Committee member, Subash Karunaratne said the Group is expected to organise teachers-students get-together in the future too.Two units of a public address system and an intercom system to the value of Rs. four million was also donated to the school.
