off at the CR and FC grounds, Longden Place, Colombo yesterday. Gurung
fired goals early in the ninth minute and went on to finish with another

In the 16th minute and 51st minute striker Anu Lama scored two goals
for Nepal who led 6-0 at lemons.

minute and Dipa Adhikari in the 72nd minute. In the first SAFF Women’s

Afghanistan hold Maldives
Underdogs Afganistan came up with the gallant display to hold the
more fancied Maldives to a one-all draw in the second game played at the
same venue yesterday. Afgan striker Hailai Agharndival put her team
ahead within two minutes from the commencement with a superb kick from
midfield which beat the Maldives goal keeper all ends up. There was no
further scoring in the first half and score read 1-0 in favour of
Afganistan at the breather.
The Maldives dominated the second half, but could not penetrate the
rock hard Afghan defence. However in the 72nd minute, the Maldivian
found the equalizer when Afza Fathimath sent in a scorcher from midfield
to beat the Afghan goalkeeper and give Maldives a face saving one-all
draw.
