The Sri Lanka country pavilion at Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, Spain recently has yielded positive dividends, a media release from the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) said.

Five Sri Lankan companies, Fidenz, Informatics, Mylinex, Orik and Wavenet showcased their mobile solutions at the Sri Lankan pavilion organised by ICTA under its private sector development program.

“This was the first time Sri Lanka set up a country pavilion at the Mobile World Congress. The event included learning and networking opportunities, product showcasing and innovation,” a spokesman for ICTA said.

Sri Lankan tea served to visitors at the stand was sponsored by Mlesna. This attracted many who wanted to taste a cup of the hot local brew in the very cold temperatures that prevailed in Barcelona during the Congress.

“The visitors were impressed with the service offerings and the cutting edge solutions displayed by the Sri Lankan companies,” he said.
