MAHAPOLA HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP TRUST FUND 

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST 

The Mahapola Trust Fund was established by Act No.66 of 1981. Since the establishment of the trust, it has awarded scholarships to over 100,000 University students in Sri Lanka and it continues this noble object of it's founder, the late Hon. Lalith Athulathmudali. 

The Trust Fund is anxious to enlarge the scope of coverage of its scholarships and engage in other charitable educational, vocational and technical training activities in Sri Lanka.  

The Mahapola Act provides for the conduct of Lotteries for the purpose of raising funds. 

The Board of Trustees of the Mahapola Trust Fund has decided to relaunch the Mahapola Lottery.  Expressions of Interest are hereby solicited from reputed international firms with proven experience in lottery implementation globally.  They may submit Technical and Financial proposals for the operation of a lottery which will generate the desired revenue.  Preference will be given to a company with international experience which has operated lotteries globally over the last 10 years in at least 10 countries.  The Company must also be able to demonstrate sound financial strength and capability. 

Receipt of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) will close on 8th  May, 2003 at 4.00 p.m. at the Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, 7th Floor, 'Rakshana Mandiraya", Colombo 02.
