OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
EXPERTS IN NATURAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT

The Government of Sri Lanka has initiated a long term programme for the prevention, mitigation and management of natural disasters. The Office of the President wishes to identify experienced national and international personnel, to assist the Government of Sri Lanka, from those who possess expertise in the prevention, mitigation and management of following natural hazards :

  • Tsunami ;
  • Landslides ;
  • Cyclones ;
  • Major Floods ;
  • Droughts ; and
  • Dam Bursts

The applicants are required to possess extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of disaster management in one or more of the natural hazards mentioned above. They would have to collaborate with local experts and formulate policies and plans, and implement strategies for the effective management of natural hazards in Sri Lanka. Excellent conceptual, analytical and communication skills, together with the ability to foster dialogue with relevant persons in Government, Civil Society, and Private Sector and desired.

Qualified national and international experts are invited to submit a Curriculum Vitae, containing details of educational and professional qualifications and work experience, to Secretary to the President, Office of the President, Colombo - 01, Sri Lanka, via  email ( [email protected]  ) or  post  before 02 September 2005.
