Sarada de Silva addresses World Spice Congress

Spices and Allied Products Producers' and Traders' Association Mr. Sarada de Silva, Chairman (SAPPTA) and Director, Intercom Ltd. was invited to address the World Spice Congress on 'Overview of Tree Spices,' organised by the Spices Board, India and All India Spices Exporters Forum.

The World Spice Congress, held since 1990, brings the major players of the spices industry together on a global platform to exchange ideas, share experiences and form profitable partnerships.

A 14-member delegation of the SAPPTA participated at the sixth World Spice Congress held from January 31 to February 2 in Cochin, India.

The delegation led by Mr. de Silva also comprised Dr. D. Nugawela, Vice Chairman, SAPPTA and Managing Director, Link Natural Products (Pvt.) Ltd., G. S. Chatoor of Saboor Chatoor and Co. Ltd., K. L. Karunaratne of L. B. Spice Trading (Pvt.) Ltd., T. A. Gulamhusein of Spice of Life (Pvt.) Ltd., R. Umashanker of Stassen Exports Ltd., Y. M. Ibrahim and S. M. Rafeek Odayar of Ishana Spice Exports, P. J. Rodrigo of P. W. Rodrigo Estates Ltd., R. S. J. Ganemulla of PGI (Exports) Ltd., D. A. Perera and A. M. I. Bandara of EOAS International, S. Muthusammy of Lanka Organics Ltd. and M. R. A. Hussain of Saheed Brothers.
