British trade mission in Colombo

A delegation from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be in Sri Lanka from February 11 to 15. This follows the Chamber's successful visit to the island in February 2001, a British High Commission news release said.

The delegation will comprise 15 companies covering a wide range of goods and services.

They are: Abey Enterprises - promotes British technology, modern technical and teaching methods, promotes educational institutions to students and exports and imports; Anooma International Ltd. - intermediary between producers, manufacturers, suppliers and clients in public and private sectors; Carew Smith International - provides management recruitment on an international basis through executive search consultancy;

DCE Donaldson Ltd. - makes dust, weld fume and oil mist control equipment; Domestic and Business Systems (UK) Ltd. - project management and consultancy in the power and media sectors, procurement, electronic design for specialist applications and high technology instrumentation specially for scientific and research institutes; Eastman Staples Ltd. - supplies consumables, paper and polythene for design and cutting rooms, cutting and sewing machines, accessories and design aides to the UK clothing industry;

Eureka Business Systems Ltd. - promotes e-commerce to local businesses; Feasibility East Ltd. - consultants in investment feasibility studies and project management services, acting as owner's representative for investment projects that proceed; Geno Services Ltd. - markets and distributes products for babies and small children; Interlink Exports Ltd. - exports electrical goods, test equipment and audio installations and agent for ceramic floortiles, specialist teas, jewellery and giftware from Sri Lanka; London College of Business and Computing - offers business and computing courses leading to British professional qualifications; Mirams Waterhouse Ltd. - computerised management systems which facilitate quality and environmental systems; Newtons Computer Systems - system builders for corporations, universities and schools and network consultant and system tutor; Riley Leisure Ltd. - manufactures and distributes cue sports products to over 60 countries; and Thermo Projects Ltd. - provides turnkey laboratory and workplace solutions for education, science engineering and healthcare applications.

The mission will be based at the Taj Samudra Hotel and Mission Manager Sarah Sim will assist local companies wanting to contact individual mission members.
