A team of surgeons from Interplast, Britain headed by their President, Dr. Charles Viva, will arrive in Sri Lanka today (Feb. 10) to conduct a mission in plastic surgery free of charge.

The team is being sponsored by the German Help Foundation, the Sri Lankan NGO, who are the sole organisers and sponsors of these medical missions in Sri Lanka since 1995. Hitherto 18 projects have been conducted throughout the country and over 2,000 operations carried out.

All earlier teams had come from Interplast Germany, and this is the second team from Interplast Britain, the first being in April 2000 where the venue was the General Hospital, Ratnapura.
