Jumar Preena Director - Media, Communications Mr. Jumar Preena has assumed office as Director of Media Relations and Marketing Communications of the Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Affairs with effect from this month. He will be in charge of publicity, public relations and promotions of the Ministry and will also co-ordinate marketing communications activities of the service institutions coming under the Ministry's purview. Mr. Preena counts nearly 21 years of experience in the mass communications field, having served as the Senior Assistant Secretary - Information of the Ministry of Transport and Media Secretary to the Speaker of Parliament for almost 12 years. He later joined the private sector media and functioned as Manager Publicity and Promotions for MTV, Sirasa FM and Yes FM. He was also appointed Manager PR for the Maharaja Group of Companies. Prior to rejoining the public service, Preena was in charge of marketing communications at Mobitel, for nearly four years. He began his career as a journalist at the Sun and Weekend newspapers published by the Dawasa Group. |
