The Sri Lanka Chapter of American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers Inc. (ASHRAE) held its Charter Ceremony in Colombo recently.

The Chapter, the 171st in the world, was formed last October and will fulfil a long-felt need among members of ASHRAE, some of whom have been members since the late 1960s.

The President of ASHRAE from the USA, William J. Coad was in Sri Lanka to officiate at the charter ceremony.

The ASHRAE Sri Lanka office bearers are Yaseen Marikkar (President), J. O. Yatwara (President Elect), Wijitha Perera, Pandu Amarasinghe, Franklin Silva and Wasantha Kumara (Vice Presidents), Chandana Dalugoda (Secretary) and Nihal Nanayakkara (Treasurer).
