Colombo Port attracts 5900 TEU vessels

Lloyd Triestino, a member of the Evergreen Group will be inducting vessels with a capacity of 5900 TEUs at the Colombo Port, with effect from March 13. 'LT UNICA' will be berthed at the Jaye Container Terminal of the Port of Colombo.

The Jaye Container Terminal, said to be the largest container terminal in South Asia has over the recent weeks increased its vessels' productivity by 60-70 per cent. "Induction of large Super Post Panamax vessels by Lloyd Triestino is seen as a reflection of their confidence in the productivity enhancement measures adopted by the Jaye Container Terminal," the Sri Lanka Ports Authority said in a news release.
