SriLankan opens refurbished Kandy office

The Kandy ticket office of SriLankan Airlines was declared open after refurbishment last week.

The office has undergone refurbishment in the SriLankan corporate colours and will be uniform in design to the airline's other ticket offices in Sri Lanka and abroad.

The office has a staff of seven and offers all services including seat reservations, issuing of tickets, reconfirmations, fare quotations and prepaid ticketing.

The Kandy ticket office which was opened in 1982 was SriLankan's first outstation office. Originally designed as a service centre, this ticket office soon began to generate revenue as well with average monthly sales of Rs. 12.5 million. January 2002 saw it achieve a record breaking Rs. 15 million in sales. It is soon to become a regional ticket office overlooking passenger sales agents in Kurunegala and Anuradhapura.

SriLankan Airlines also has offices in Galle, Ratnapura and Dambulla besides Colombo and Kandy.
