Mahela, Malintha and Tilan get 'tons' and SSC hit 515

SSC batsmen went on a run spree when they hit up an imposing 515 in reply to CCC's first innings score 313 on the second day of their Premier division cricket match at the NCC grounds yesterday.

Leading the run spree was Test batsman Mahela Jayawardena who struck an imperious 150 off 153 balls with three sixes and 20 boundaries.

SSC continuing their overnight score 119 for 2 with Jayawardena 57 n.o and Malintha Perera 38 n.o as the pair went on to add 240 runs for the third wicket with Perera striking a fine 123 facing 238 balls inclusive of 18 boudaries.

SSC raced towards the 500 run mark when Tilan Samaraweera became the third centurion with an unbeaten 100. Samaraweera and Suresh Perera batted purposefully to add 91 runs for the sixth wicket with Perera's contribution 38.
