St. Peter's soccerites make goodwill mission to Jaffna

St. Peter's College will join in the peace efforts of the Sri Lanka Government with the soccer team showing the way with a short tour of Jaffna in early April.

The Rector of St. Peter's Fr. Felician Ranjith Perera and many members of the tutorial staff and the soccerites totalling around 33 members will undertake the tour to Jaffna.

St. Patrick's College, Jaffna will be the hosts and they will handle all arrangements. The Peterites will play three matches - against St. Patrick's College on April 11, St. Henry College on April 12 and against Central College on April 13.

A great deal of enthusiasm prevails among the Peterite soccerites, who will no doubt open the gates and barriers that hitherto existed and make new friends with their brothers in Jaffna.

The Peterites are not going on a joy ride and are hard at practice for this short tour with coach Tissa Kodituwakku assisted by Milroy Perera and the master-in-charge Sarath Francis putting the boys through their paces.

In Jaffna, Miss Marina Thuarsius is in charge of the preparations for the tour.
