Private mental institution in the offing

A leading Sri Lankan conglomerate plans to build a home for the mentally retarded, first of its kind in Sri Lanka, in the outskirts of Colombo, very soon.

This massive project, will be of immense relief to parents and relatives, who are saddled with the burden of looking after their dearest and the nearest, to seek treatment at this 'home' which will provide state-of-the-art medical facilities.

The private institution which will be funded by the conglomerate, will also seek the blessings of the state and will also seek funds from other charity organisations including the relatives of inmates, to maintain short and long-term treatment, hospitalisation, occupational therapy, rehabilitation and in the event of demise of kith and kin, to take care of the patient, for lifetime.

Those interested and views of experts on this subject may write with full details to the Co-ordinator, 19/157, Farm Rd, Colombo 15, to be forwarded to the company.
