45 relays at National Relay Carnival

There will be 45 relays worked off at the National Relay Carnival to be held from May 3 to 5 on the Police Grounds, Bambalapitiya. This is the first event for the current year in the National Athletic Calendar.

The National Relay Championships will be sponsored by Dialog, GSM.

The newly elected president of the Amateur Athletic Association Sunil Jayaweera said that this is the largest amount of teams in the Relay Championships ever to face the starter.

A large number of schools and clubs will participate at the meet including teams from the North and East.

Entry forms have been sent to affiliated district associations, clubs and schools. If associations, clubs and schools need further entry forms they should contact Captain Shemal Fernando, 'The Anchorage', 41/2, Pantaleon Mawatha, Kandana. Entries close on April 10.
