Rs. 600m. arms deal probed

The Ministry of Defence has commenced investigations into an allegedly irregular arms deal concluded by the previous government just two days prior to the December 5 general election. The deal is for the purchase of 30,000 missiles for the Army's 122 mm calibre, multi-barrelled rocket launchers at a total cost of Rs. 600 million.
