Kamban Kalagam felicitates six outstanding personalities

Kamban Kalagam formed by Tamil scholars several years ago in Jaffna are rendering tremendous service to promote Tamil Literature Art and Culture. Kamban Kalagam has given a new impetus and fresh direction not only in cultural development but also consolidates cultural ties and fosters peaceful and good neighbourliness among countries like India, Malaysia, singapore and several other countries.

The President of Kamban Kalagam, D. Eeswaran, Treasurer P. Balasundaram and Secretary S. A. Balendra and the Tamil scholar Kambavaaruthy and E. Jeyaraj are making arrangements to hold the 5th annual literary and cultural festival of "Kamban Kalagam" at Ramakrishna Mission Hall, Wellawatte, Colombo 6 commencing Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 April.

The statue of the great Tamil literary scholar and poet "Kamban" will be taken in procession on 25 April from the top of the main road leading to Ramakrishna Mission hall with the participation of schoolchildren to the accompaniment of oriental music, Natheswaram and devotional songs.
