Team Caltex takes Mahagastota by storm

Team Caltex turned up trumps at the Mahagastota Hill Climb and took the first three places for the second consecutive year.

Aravinda Premadasa of Team Caltex was the winner of the Super Cars event (motor cars above 1685cc). Aravinda racing his Caltex Subaru Imprezza took the chequered flag with two more members of Caltex - Nalin Perera and Nishan Weerasuriya taking second and third spots.

Nalin Perera showed that he was a driver with enough talent, won the 'A' group cars 10-8 kg/hp event.

Then there was the veteran Yoga Perera in his Caltex Mini won the 1350-1685cc and 1050-1350cc events respectively. The Mahagastota Hill Climb has been a happy hunting ground for Yoga who has turned up trumps on many occasions over the years.

It was somewhat tough competition for Rohan de Silva of Mobil until the end as Rizvi Farook drove his Havoline Formula well to clinch second place in the Formula event. Rizvi also took second place in the 1350-1685cc event, while Javid Wahab - a driver that shows immense promise did well to win the 6-8kg/hp event.
