Savings Bank celebrates first anniversary
Ceylinco Savings Bank which launched operations with a customer promotion that netted Rs. 50 million on the opening day, has announced a line-up of celebrations and promotions to be held between May 13 and 31 to mark the completion of its first year of operations. The celebrations will be launched tomorrow by Sunimal Fernando Chief Executive Officer of Ceylinco Savings Bank (CSB) and will comprise awards, cash prizes and other rewards to customers, charity efforts, entertainment and an Anda Bera karaya or town crier to announce the proceedings to the public. "All customers who make a minimum deposit of Rs. 10,000 in a one-year term deposits immediately qualify to win Rs. 100,000 as first prize of Rs. 1,000 each during this period," Fernando said. "Those customers who make larger deposit get more chances. For example a Rs. 20,000 deposit allows the same customer two chances." New deposits in Punchi accounts the children's savings scheme will have a separate prize scheme, a multi-media computer worth Rs. 60,000 will be given to a lucky child with consolation prizes of Rs. 1000 and a special DSB wristwatch awarded to 10 other children. For Punchi accounts, the minimum new deposit required to qualify is only Rs. 5,000. Again customers making deposits of multiples of that sum get the same multiple of chances to win," said Tilak de Alwis, Senior Manager Marketing. In association with the Sarana Fund established by chairman Lalith Kotelawala, Ceylinco Savings Bank has initiated proceedings to offer mid-day meals to 700 needy persons. The events will conclude on May 31 with the prize draw by Kotelawala supported by entertainment and other activities. |
