CCI
to visit Jaffna
The Chamber of Construction Industry, Sri Lanka (CCI) is scheduled to visit Jaffna on May 14 and 15 to inspect areas for rehabilitation and reconstruction. The Chamber's delegation of around 50 will comprise professionals, contractors and building material manufacturers and suppliers. The delegation will also meet the relevant government officials to discuss how the Chamber could assist in the rehabilitation and reconstruction process. A key purpose of the visit by the Chamber is to ascertain how its members would assist in the immediate requirements of construction of the internally displaced persons who have decided to return to their places of residence. In this connection, the Chamber will also be seeking ways and means of establishing collaborative ventures; especially to organize outlets for the supply of building materials and construction equipment. Further, the Chamber will enquire about the training of construction personnel in the North and East. |
