Chief-of-Staff appointment vacant The post of Chief-of-Staff of the Sri Lanka Army still remains vacant since the retirement of Major General Neil Dias on April 13. Major General L.C.R. Gunawardena the Deputy Chief-of-Staff is overseeing the duties of the Chief-of-Staff at present. Changes at the top positions are likely to be made by next month, according to reliable defence sources. Meanwhile no one has been appointed so far to the President's Army Buddhist Council Unit which was headed by retired Major General Neil Dias. This appointment is expected to be made before Vesak Full Moon Poya Day. |
