Ceylinco Life policyholders get discounts at Cancer Detection Centre

Ceylinco Life has launched an initiative to encourage the company's policyholders to undergo early screening for cancer, believed to be the second highest cause of disease-related deaths in Sri Lanka.

The company has announced that all active policyholders would automatically receive a 10 per cent discount when they use the screening facilities at the Ceylinco Cancer Detection Centre in Colombo. "Cancer Screening is a significant area of our overall vision of a healthy nation. We have insured well over 600,000 lives, and this initiative will benefit a significant segment of the population," Ceylinco Healthcare Services Ltd. Deputy Chairman R. Renganathan said.

Established in collaboration with the Washington Cancer Institute, the Ceylinco Cancer Detection Centre has the latest available medical facilities for comprehensive screening for several types of Cancer. The centre is equipped for oral, breast, colorectal, stomach and cervical cancer screening, as well as for tests such as mammography, endoscopy, laryngoscopy, ultrasound scanning and x-ray.

Part of a major initiative to promote the prevention of cancer through screening and education, the Centre was established on the rationale that prevention is better than cure and on the basis of the Washington Cancer Institute's data showing that more than 70 per cent of cancer related deaths can be prevented by early detection through screening. Apart from screening, the centre offers comprehensive risk management and cancer education.

Ceylinco Healthcare Services Ltd., which owns and operates the Cancer Detection Centre, has also set up an affiliated referral centre in the Maldivian capital Male, in collaboration with Islanders Maldives (Pvt.) Ltd., providing Maldivians with access to its facilities and services.
