Thamilchelvam to meet Colombo lawyers

The LTTE political Wing Stalwart Thamilchelvam has agreed to meet the Colombo Magistrate Court Lawyers to explain the stand of the LTTE on the peace process. LTTE Chief Administrative Officer Sinnappa Master has confirmed that the meeting will take place shortly.

Hemantha Warnakulasuriya, the President of the Colombo Magistrate Court Lawyers' Association said that their main concern was building a better understanding between North and South with regard to the peace process. He also said that he had informed the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition about the intended meeting.

The association expects to have an extensive discussion with Thamilchelvam covering all the areas pertaining to the peace process. The date for the meeting will be arranged shortly and 'the Movement Towards Peace' the project of the Colombo Magistrate Court Lawyers' Association will also engage in further peace promotional activities in the Jaffna peninsula.

A large number of books specially on Law will also be donated to the Jaffna Library and other libraries in the peninsula. The Chief Justice and other eminent lawyers have also given their blessings, for the donation of books to the North, Mr. Warnakulasuriya said.
