ANCL Vesak lantern display today

The panoramic Vesak lantern display on D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo, opposite Lake House, opens today (May 26) at 7 pm, in tune with a presentation of Vesak Bhakti Gee (Vesak songs) by a group of Lake House employees at the entrance to the premises.

Shirley Waijayantha Gunasinghe, Director (Music), National Youth Services Council directs the music. Co-ordination will by done by M. Sudath Bandara.

Human Resources, Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Karunasena Kodituwakku will ceremonially open the display of Vesak lanterns at 7 pm today. Mass Communication Minister Imithiyaz Bakeer Markar and Justice, Law Reforms, National Integration and Buddha Sasana Minister W.J.M. Lokubandara will be the chief guests on the second day (May 27) at 7 pm amidst a session of Bhakthi Gee by the Company's employees.

The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd. (The Lake House) holds its traditional lantern display for the 13 th successive year.
