A number of Estate Managements have come in a big way to popularise football and have taken steps to infuse new blood and vigour among the youngsters by organising several matches in the Nanuoya, Talawakelle and Nuwara Eliya areas.

Sportsman and Secretary of the Nuwara Eliya Planters Association Theja Dharmaratne, with his Langdale Division Varney Sports Club has organised a three-day soccer tournament, where nearly fifty teams are participating from various estates.

The three-day tourney started on 25th May and will be concluded on 27th May, at the Radella International grounds.

Handsome prizes including cash, will be awarded to the winners.

A team of organisers including planters with M. Puniyamoorthy, as Secretary of the Langdale S.C. have made elaborate arrangements to make this tourney a success.
