A card for all reasons

"What is common in our clientele is their practical approach towards technology-based marketing tools", said Nalaka Kularatne, CEO of e-Business Card (Pvt) Ltd. The company develops multimedia contents for CD-ROMs specially the e-Business Card, which is a CD ROM the size of a typical visiting card. These can be played in any computer despite its unusual shape and size. e-Business cards can hold 50 MB of information which may be text, voice, music, video or animations.

He said "Modern businesspersons and senior executives have correctly identified that conventional brochures for business meetings and promotions are fast diminishing with the advent of IT-based communication tools such as CD ROMs. CD ROM-based multimedia brochures and company profiles have become prudent business promotional tools."

e-business card, incorporated two years ago to market these cards to local business people, has more than 20 corporations in its client list which includes exporters hoteliers, manufacturers and telecom operators.

Their most recent multimedia project was to develop and manufacture e-Business cards for Roshan Perera, Chairman and Managing Director of JP Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. "Mr. Perera is one of our most valued customers who identified the importance of carrying IT-based promotional tools for business promotions. He uses e-business cards very often in his foreign business missions", Kularatne said.

Mr. Perera, speaking about the recently concluded exhibition in the UK said "This exhibition was a great success and we capitalised on our past experiences in promotional activities in similar trade shows. During this trade show, the use of e-business cards effectively communicated the strength of our company with a flare of cutting edge technology".

Janaka Boteju, Managing Director of Bernard Boteju Ltd. is another leading businessman who uses multimedia company profiles stored in CD ROMs in his business promotions. "eBizCard made our business communication easy", he said.

Sri Lanka Telecom has also used eBizCards in one of its product launch workshops held in Colombo in 2000. Setsuya Kimura Telecom's Head of Marketing and IP said "The effectiveness of eBizCards for business promotions is commendable".
