MSRC - All out to curb escalating prices The government will shortly present a bill before Parliament to set up a powerful Multi Sectoral Regulatory Commission (MSRC) bring down escalating prices of essential goods, medicine, food items, water and electricity, Crude oil, gas and transport fares which have a bearing on the day today lives of the masses. The Sunday Observer reliably learns that Cabinet had given its approval to set up the proposed Commission, last week. The MSRC, once set up will be empowered to take stern action against those who fail to comply with regulations and will also have powers to cancel route permits of private bus operators who increase bus fares without prior approval. Private bus owners who feel the need to increase bus fares should write to the Commission justifying their claim for such an increase. |
