HNB - John Keells Merc 'A' div final

Hatton National Bank registered a thrilling 3-wicket win over Sampath Bank in the second semi-final of the Mercantile "A" division played at the Colts grounds yesterday.

This enables HNB to meet John Keells in the final at the NCC grounds on June 22.

Sampath Bank, batting first, put up a mammoth 290 for 9 in 50 overs but HNB were equal to the task and scored the runs with 10 balls to spare.

T. M. Dilshan batted best for HNB with a fluent 85.

Sampath Bank: 290/9 in 50 overs(Shantha Kalawitigoda 68, Charinda Fernando 30, Jeewan Mendis 65, Chintaka Jayasinghe 2/22, Kaushal Lokuarachchi 2/63, Kumar Dharmasena 3/51)

HNB: 291/7 in 48.2 overs (Avishka Gunawardena 60, Kaushal Lokuarachchi 31, Sanjeewa Silva 36, T.M. Dilshan 85, Kumar Dharmasena 43 n.o, Charinda Fernando 4/47.
