S. Thomas' - the champs There had been a big blunder in the calculation of points at the Sri Lanka Schools Senior and Junior Swimming and Diving Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association and held at the Sugathadasa Stadium last weekend. S. Thomas' are the real winners with 502 points with Royal in second place with 492 points. Originally Royal were declared the winners, but the authorities during the awards ceremony changed their first verdict and made S. Thomas' the champions. Asoka Senanayake, the President of the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association said that when re-scrutiny of the points took place, it was found that the original result that Royal had won was wrong and S. Thomas' are the champions of the overall boys championships. - (L.F.) |
