New Colombo Archbishop The Rt. Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis M.A., Ph.D., the present Bishop of Anuradhapura Diocese will take over as Spiritual Head of Sri Lanka's Roman Catholics when he is installed as Archbishop of Colombo at a ceremony on July 27 at St. Lucia's Cathedral, Kotahena. Pope John Paul II has accepted the resignation of the present Archbishop of Colombo, a release from the Catholic Bishops' Conference in Sri Lanka said. |
