Second CD to be launched

Soon on the shelves will be the second CD release from the 'Kumara Ekanayake Trio'. Titled Samuganna Mata Ba the CD contains eighteen songs in varying rhythms and took two years to be compiled.

According to Ekanayake, the tracks were recorded at his home studio and the songs were written by Hemasiri Halpita, Lucky Deva and Kalum Srimal and the music directed by him and Thushara Kuruvita. Some of the songs are already receiving air play and the three of them Mata ba mata ba, Ginikirillieye and Sri Lankan kellak are quite popular with listeners. Comprising Kumara on keyboards, Thushara Pieris - guitar and Stephny Samarakoon - vocals, the trio have been together since 1995 and are performing regularly at Hotel Eden. As entertainers on concert stages, the trio was the backing band for the recent 'Pahan Piyasa' show that was telecast live on Sirasa TV.
