A question of revelation

Mirror, mirror, you're driving me .... up the wall! Indeed, after globe trotting my way around the planet and preaching that ugliness doesn't exist, my credo remains to convince women that beauty is merely a question of revelation. Thank heavens for astute make-up artistry that allows a woman to think at times: "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. De Mille!"

To me, a woman must understand that she is an actress in her own theatre,. Yet make-up should never be a mask to disguise her inner personality. On the contrary, make-up products, shades and textures should be carefully selected in order to project what a woman really is about; herself.

Style is the extra je ne sais quoi that some women just scream of in a yet muted fashion. Now, can you beat this one? At the dawn of her career, actress Marlene Dietrich had all her molar teeth removed to create the sky-high cheekbones which were to compose her trademark features! I tell you, if "style" means being condemned to live on marshmallows for the rest of our life, I don't want any of it, thank you very much!

And when gossip and style merge in a rather steamy joint (ad) venture, here is what you get: When, ending her search for a father figure, temperamental Hollywood star Jean Harlow married movie producer Paul Berns, an unfortunate anatomical impediment prevented him from consummating their marriage. Jean Harlow, consumed with humiliation, instantly sued for a divorce. Later, the unlucky "just married-soon-divorced" husband, managed to break into the "love goddess" boudoir while she was away; he then took his clothes off, doused himself with Harlow's perfume and, after creeping into the satin sheets of his "one-day wife's" bed.... he shot himself!!
