Asia Securities ranked No. 1 stockbroker

Asia Securities Ltd has recorded an impressive turnover and has been ranked number one stockbroker in turnover and brokerage income for the first half of this year, a news release said.

According to official figures from the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), Asia Securities was also ranked number one in turnover and brokerage income for the second quarter of 2002.

The company was also ranked number one in turnover and brokerage income for June, with a turnover of Rs. 2.4 billion and brokerage income of Rs. 22.2 million. It had achieved a similar performance in December 2001. Asia Securities was also ranked number one in turnover and brokerage in the calendar year 2001 as well as in the financial year 2001/2002.

The company has been instrumental in successfully facilitating activities for most blue chip companies in the first half of 2002. It is confident of promoting further new strategic investments to the stock market in the months ahead.
