National Productivity Policy in the offing

Sri Lanka's first National Productivity Policy will be implemented in September, Minister of Employment and Labour Mahinda Samarasinghe said recently. The national policy will comprise the private sector productivity policy and the public sector productivity policy, the Minister told the 11th Annual General Meeting of the Industrial Association of Sri Lanka.

The private sector productivity policy will be financed by USAID while the Asian Productivity Organisation will assist the public sector productivity policy.

The Ministry will establish a productivity secretariat to coordinate and implement the productivity policy, he said.
