Drop in fuel prices?

There are indications that fuel prices in the country may drop further in the near future which in turn would bring about price reductions of several other goods. According to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) sources, the world market prices of crude oil has remained stable upto now this month, prompting a reduction in the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene. CPC Deputy General Manager (development and planning), Ranjith Wickremasinghe told the Sunday Observer that it is too early to confidently predict a possible price reduction of fuel. He said that it will be after the end of this month that anything definite could be said about a further fuel price drop.

The corporation will then evaluate the daily world market prices that prevailed during the month before deciding on any new price structure. (AN)
