NCE Export Awards for the 10th year The NCE Export Awards will take place for the 10th consecutive year on August 16 at the Colombo Hilton. The ceremony is organised by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) as a tribute to exporters who make a major contribution to the country by generating employment opportunities and bringing in foreign exchange to the country, NCE President Felix Yahampath said last week. The German Ambassador in Sri Lanka Juergen Elias will be the chief guest on the occasion which will see 74 awards being presented to exporters. Over 400 applications have been received so far. The awards will be classified as small, medium, large and extra large under the sectors Agriculture Traditional, Agriculture Non-traditional, Value Added Tea, Industry, Gems and Jewellery, Garments and Service Providers to Exporters. Apart from the Most Outstanding Exporter under each sector, awards will also be presented to the Most Outstanding Exporter among all Exporters, Best Woman Exporter, Best Sri Lankan Brand Exporter and Most Value-added and Innovative Product. The principal sponsors of the awards are Bank of Ceylon, DHL, Edna Group, HSBC, Mobitel, People's Bank, Sampath Bank and Union Assurance while the sponsors are Da Vinci Richco, Dimo, Export Development Board, Lion Brewery, Lanka Orix Factors, Seylan Bank, Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation, Sri Lanka Tea Board and Warna Group.
