The inauguration of the Sri Lanka Army Website on January 1 2001, consequent to an initiative taken by the Army's Directorate of Media has been able to give its readership a daily updated and factual account of the current security situation of the country and a comprehensive catalogue of Army events, its history, training, and other activities.

The popularity of this Website is always on the increase both here and abroad. To make speedier access to the Website synonymous with fast developing technical advancements, it was found necessary to change hitherto used Army Website logging i.e. www.slarmy.org to a cuter www.army.lk.

This newly-developed and re-designed Army Website www.army.lk will henceforth continue to feature Daily Situation Reports, the Army's history, welfare, training, rehabilitation perspectives and all other important Army events of national importance including visits by dignitaries.
