Jagath Fernando

Deputy Chairman John Keells Holdings (JKH) and head of the group's leisure sector, Jagath Fernando tendered his resignation. He announced his plans for retirement in August next year. Fernando began his career in the early 1970s as a tea taster in the JKH tea division. He moved on to Walkers Tours, and was appointed to the main board of JKH in the early 1990s.

He is the Chairman of Gordon Frazer and Co Ltd., Managing Director Keells Hotel Management Services and a Director of over 50 subsidiaries and associate companies of the group. He was the Managing Director of Walkers Tours Ltd. and Keells Diamonds Ltd.
