Fusion jazz today

Catch the exciting sounds of cool, Latin and fusion jazz today when jazz musicians will meet to exchange chords of creativity at the jazz session at the 80 Club, Independence Avenue. The opening act at 1.30 pm will be by vocalist Jean Van Heer and her group with Kumar de Silva - piano and Nilantha Ariyaratne - bass. The session will also feature pianist Harsha and Khrome with Ravibandu - Sri Lankan drums and Nesan Thiagarajan - percussion.

Alston Joachim will be on bass and Shiraaz Nooramith - drums. Harsha has agreed to play the fusion pieces he successfully performed at the Asian Jazz Festival held in Mumbai in April this year.
